I just got back from book club. The book was I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. What a great book but that wasn't what we talked about for the majority of the evening. Politics reared it's head and I'm not sure where everyone in the room fell on the political spectrum. I might have offended some with my Sarah Palin impression (I've decided that's who I'll be for Halloween - pretty scary, huh?). At one point, though, one of my friends expressed her belief in the correlation between Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky Scandal and a rise in teenage girls giving blow-jobs. Can this be feasibly true or measurable? I don't know. I'm going to try and find out, though.....
I think perhaps, a picture wouldn not be appropriate with this post....

Uh, I dare say that's one of the most ridiculous assertions I've ever heard. Like teenagers didn't know blow-jobs existed prior to it being on National news? Or because Monica and Bill are so HAWT it obviously means all the cool kids do it?
May I guess that this person was a little to the right and therefore all the evil in the world can be blamed on the left, and in particular the Clintons?
I responded similarly about my reaction which was more creeped out than, man, Bill and Monica are my role models!
I admire this woman for speaking up, though, because the left-wing rants were pretty strong last night and she might've been the only rightie among us. There were some silent ones, whom I suspect were closet conservatives but they were too chicken to back her up.
I'm sure teenage girls look at Bill and think, "OMG!!!!!! I am totally in love with him!!!!! I think I'll go have oral sex now!!!!!"
Because, of course, that's what I thought at the time.
